Winnipeggers came out in full force on Thursday 8 May 2014 to watch Canada take on USA in a Women’s International Friendly match. The match attendance of 28,255 was the second-largest crowd in Canadian team history. Fans filled the stands to cheer on their hometown hero Desiree ‘The Destroyer’ Scott and her teammates. Kadeisha Buchanan was the player of the match, scoring for Canada in the 1:1 draw.

Fans in attendance also witnessed the unveiling of the Official Slogan for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™: TO A GREATER GOAL.
